Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and, like all of them, volcanic in origin. The island basks in year round warmth off the African coast and enjoys up to 11 hours of sunshine in the summer months, which means it is perfect for sun-lovers.

The temperature on the south coast of Tenerife averages 26º centigrade with not much variation throughout the year, making it the perfect getaway in the winter months from those long dark and cold days of England.

Tenerife has many fantastic places to go and see and caters for all ages. Children will love Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz and also the recently opened Siam Park just outside Las Americas which is a new and exciting water park. For the adventurous there are excursions to majestic Mount Teide in the centre of the island or trips to the mysterious island of La Gomera. For those who love walking, though this is not suitable for children, there is the Masca walk (breathtaking!) and a walk down the Barranco del Infierno.
